All of our programs are approved by the Maryland Board of Cosmetologists and lead to Maryland licensure. Every one of them runs on the same model — self-paced online theory plus scheduled hands-on training at our campus — and every one can be paid monthly, without debt.

Built around a life you already have.
Most of our students are working, parenting, or both. Practical sessions run on set days at our campus, and theory is yours to do whenever you can fit it. Schedules can change between cohorts — confirm the dates attached to yours before you plan around them.

How the training works
Two halves, running together.
Theory is online and self-paced. Your coursework runs on Milady CIMA, the industry-standard digital platform. No fixed log-in times, no rigid classroom hours. Study from your couch, on a break, or at 11pm once the house is quiet. This is where you build the knowledge the state examination tests.
Practical is in person and scheduled. Hands-on work happens at our campus on set days, and attendance is required. You start on mannequins and move to real clients in the student clinic under instructor supervision. This is where you build the skills people actually pay for.
They are not alternatives. You do both, at the same time, and together they add up to your total clock hours.
Paying for it
We don’t do student loans. At all.
MIAA does not offer, arrange, or broker loans of any kind, and we don’t participate in federal student aid. Starting a beauty career already carrying debt is a bad opening move, so we built the alternative instead.
Monthly plans
Split it into manageable pieces.
Pay your enrollment deposit, then the balance across scheduled monthly installments — nine months for cosmetology, five for esthetics, two for nails. No interest. Lash is a single payment.
Tuition credits
Your clinic hours pay you back.
Every service you perform in the student clinic earns credit against your tuition balance. You have to do the hours anyway. This way they work for you twice — once as training, once as money.
Pay in full
Save 10% up front.
Settling the whole balance at enrollment takes 10% off the total. Scholarships through the Beauty Access Fund, workforce programs, and employer sponsorship may also apply — ask before you assume you’re paying it all yourself.
After you finish
Graduation is the starting block, not the finish line.
Optional externship
Real salon experience before you’re on your own.
Our optional externship places you in a working professional salon while you are still a student, so you build a resume, a network, and some confidence before you are handling everything yourself.
200 post-grad hours
Keep using the building after you leave.
Licensed graduates can use our facility for up to 200 hours after finishing, to take their own clients and build a book. That is real earning time before you commit to a booth rental or a lease.
Worth being clear about
Completing a program is one requirement toward Maryland licensure, not the whole of it. Licenses are issued by the Maryland Board of Cosmetologists, subject to their own application, examination, age, education, and character requirements. MIAA does not guarantee licensure, examination results, employment, or any particular level of earnings. Where anything here differs from your signed enrollment agreement, the agreement controls.
