Talk with our team
We can walk through your goals, the program that fits them, the schedule you can realistically commit to, and what it will cost you month to month. If another program suits you better, we will say so.
Review and sign your enrollment agreement
Your agreement sets out your program hours, tuition, payment schedule, attendance expectations, and the refund policy
Pay your deposit and claim your seat
Your enrollment deposit secures your place in the cohort and covers your kit, books, materials, registration, fees, and first tuition installment. Cohorts are capped and seats fill up.

Your enrollment deposit is not a separate charge on top of everything else — it bundles registration, your professional kit, instructional materials and books, required fees, and your first tuition installment into a single payment made at enrollment. The balance is then spread across monthly payments. Exact figures for your program and cohort are stated in your enrollment agreement, which controls.

Monthly payment plans
Programs can be paid on a monthly plan, except for the eyelash extensions program. You pay your enrollment deposit up front and the remaining tuition in scheduled monthly installments across your program. Terms are set out in your enrollment agreement.
The Beauty Access Fund
The MIAA Foundation, our 501(c)(3), operates the Beauty Access Fund. To date it has raised more than $75,000 and awarded 14 scholarships to students who needed help getting started. Awards are extremely limited and applications are reviewed on a rolling basis — ask our team how to apply.
Workforce and employer partnerships
We work with workforce development programs and employers across the region who sponsor training for their people. If you are working now, or connected to a workforce program, tell your advisor before you pay anything out of pocket. It is worth checking.
Federal financial aid
MIAA Beauty Institute does not participate in Title IV federal student aid. That means federal Pell Grants, federal student loans, and FAFSA-based aid are not available for our programs. MIAA Beauty Institute has a no student loan policy. We do not accept any loans of any kind.
Who can enroll.
Our programs are open to applicants who meet the school’s admissions requirements and the Maryland Board of Cosmetologists’ requirements for the license they are pursuing. Your advisor will confirm what applies to your situation during your admissions conversation.
Applicants aged 16 and 17
For minors, a parent or legal guardian must co-sign the enrollment agreement and is the primary financial obligor on the account. Both the student and the co-signing parent or guardian participate in the admissions conversation, and both review the agreement before signing.
Transfer hours
If you have completed clock hours at another licensed school, bring your official hour transcript to your admissions conversation. Transfer hours are evaluated case by case, are subject to program-specific caps, and must be verified before they can be applied. Do not assume hours will transfer until we have confirmed it in writing.
